birthday card for Atiq

Thanks Atiq for the vote of confidence. Here is the card she ordered for a friend. I sincerely hope her friend likes it.
My next project is a card for my niece Farah who is slogging it out at UITM Sri Iskandar. May her dreams and her parents dreams be fulfilled.

Quilled birthday card

I showed the previous card i made to my daughter and her sis in law and lo and behold she asked me to make a birthday card for a friend's 22nd birthday...................Alas in the excitement of it all I forgot to take a picture of it. I will ask her to take a picture of it and i will post it here soon. Anyway, while surfing for ideas, I was also attracted to pop up cards. The cards intrigued me and since I was a Math teacher before, the various types of pop up excited me as Maths and Physics (spatial) were applied.
So here comes the first pop up i made................Idea came from Lin of course (thanks Lin) but I added sequins to it cos I have a lot of them.

love in blue

This is my second attempt. I feel a lot more confident now and I followed all blogs on greeting cards. Got myself a paper cutter tho I have yet to buy the paper shredder introduced by Lin. I got out my printer and after brushing all cobwebs, i started printing words and experimenting with the sizes. I really am absorbed by the wonders of what one can do with papers and there are wonderful tutorials online. I am not new to blogging but I am not that skillful at it so i have lots to learn about linkings and uploading videos and images. But knowing my enthusiasm when finding something new and exciting, I am sure I will be able to do all those (albeit with a little help from my nephews Shafiq and Hakeem). So here is the second project with quilling.

two hearts entwined

I have been sewing beads and sequins for a number of years. Now i have found a new hobby...........making greeting cards. I was searching the net for handmade greeting cards and fell in love with quilling............thanks to Azlina ( Lin's handmade greeting cards). I bought the quilling papers since i have no idea of how to cut them and what type of paper to use. So after a few trials and errors................tadaaaaaaaaaa.................behold my first card. I had to make it big cos I knew for a first timer I am not skilled enough to go for small designs.

Salam and welcome to all.
